Stitched Standard - Vintage as an element of beauty

  • Ardyths Sew n Vac Shoppe 116 4th street Baraboo United States (map)

A hand-stitching experiment on the standards of hand-quilted aesthetics using aged textiles with a firm nod to sustainability and up-cycling and consciousness about resources waste.

Techniques such as raw edge applique, foundation piecing, quilt as you-go and color theory will be part of the workshop, well suited for all skill levels.

Your kit will include some vintage textiles and batting as well as thread from Japan and needle. Please feel free to bring small samples of your own vintage textiles.

Join us for an afternoon of camaraderie, textiles and wabi-sabi art-making. It will be the easiest thing you do all week!

Minimum of 3 students to run the class required.

Class fee is non-refundable but a friend may attend in your stead. In the event of inclement weather the class may be rescheduled.

Thank you.
