We use improvisation and raw edge hand-stitching with a variety of threads to create a running-stitch journal that is true to the maker’s style and compliments sustainable living. Textures and colors will emerge to inspire makers to take these techniques and apply them to uplift/mend wardrobes and home décor.
This workshop aligns with the Japanese philosophies of wabi-sabi and Mottainai: embracing the idea that perfection is unattainable and accepting the work that our hands produce while respecting the life of the materials that we work with.
Techniques you will encounter: raw edge appliqué, foundation piecing, sashiko hand-stitching & Boro, quilt as you go.
All supplies are included in the cost of the workshop. Minimum number of students is required to run the class. Cancellations will be honored until April 10.
Thank you all in advance.
